Party games
for phones

Games that work when everyone is already holding a phone, nobody wants to learn rules, and people keep arriving late.

Six that actually work

3–12 players · phones

Guess the number

Everyone answers the same number question about themselves in secret, then the group tries to put the answers in order. It rewards knowing people rather than trivia, so nobody gets shut out. This is exactly what HOW MUCH? does — create a room and the phones do the rest.

Who said it?

Collect one anonymous answer from everyone, read them out, and have the group match each answer to a person. Works on paper too, but counting the points by hand is the part that kills it.

Closest guess

One person is the subject. Everyone else writes down what they think that person's answer is, and the closest guess wins the round. Great for couples and long-time friends, and it always starts an argument about who really knows who.

Line yourselves up

Pick a scale — hours of sleep, spice tolerance, screen time — and everyone physically arranges themselves in order without saying their number out loud. Cooperative, loud, and surprisingly hard.

Two truths and a lie

The classic. Each person gives three statements and the group votes on the lie. Zero setup, but it slows down once people run out of stories.

Categories

One letter, five categories, sixty seconds. Matching answers cancel each other out, so the game rewards thinking sideways.

Why guessing games beat trivia

Trivia splits a room into people who know the answer and people who do not. Guessing games about each other put everyone on the same footing — the quietest person at the table is often the one nobody can read.

HOW MUCH? runs the four guessing games above for you: shuffled questions, private answers, automatic scoring and a shared leaderboard. Read how to play or browse the game modes.
